Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve system (DMRS) is a marine wildlife reserve in Tanzania, situated approximately 20km north of Dar es Salaam. The reserve system consists of the four uninhabited islands of Bongoyo, Mbudya, Pangavini and Fungu Yasini and provides protection for several important tropical ecosystems; coral reefs, mangroves and seagrass beds.

​BONGOYO ISLAND DAY TRIP
Is an uninhabited island in Tanzania, situated 2.5km north of the  Dar es Salaam. It is the most frequently visited of the four islands of the Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve (DMRS).

The island lies close to the Msasani Peninsula (in the Kinondoni district of the city) and is reachable by means of only a 30 minute boat ride from the mainland. The point of departure for most visitors to the island is 'The Slipways' hotel complex on the western side of the Msasani Peninsula.
It is therefore a popular daytrip for both tourists and Tanzanian residents alike, serving as a location for a variety of leisure activities, including snorkelling and sunbathing.

MBUDYA ISLAND DAY TRIP
​The island lies close to the beach resort and fishing community of Kunduchi and is reachable by means of a 20 minute motorboat ride crossing from the mainland. It is therefore a popular daytrip for both tourists and Tanzanian residents alike, serving as a location for a variety of leisure activities, including snorkelling, sunbathing and hiking.​

Is an uninhabited island about three miles offshore.

SINDA ISLAND DAY TRIP
Where dolphins are often spotted. The beach is fantastic
and there is good shallow water snorkeling.
