Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when I click on Book or Make Enquiry?

Using our contact telephone number and sales enquiry email address, you can contact a Tanzania Worldwide Safaris consultant who will be able to provide additional information and take some basic information to progress your enquiry.  Tanzania Worldwide Safaris is not a tour operator or travel agent. We are a Destination Management Company  promoting a range of third party tour operators’ packaged holidays and products. We do not charge or take any payments directly from the customer.

In most cases, we will initially contact the relevant tour operator partner on your behalf and check availability or provide additional information. Any subsequent communication or booking information will come directly to you from the tour operator. If you have specific questions on the holiday or the destination, the tour operator’s specialist reservation staff will be best placed to answer your queries.

Bookings will be subject to the relevant tour operators’ or suppliers’ terms and conditions which you should read carefully before proceeding. Any subsequent changes, amendments or cancellations will be dependent on the relevant tour operator or supplier booking terms.

Is it cheaper to book direct with the tour operator?

No - our services are totally free to our customers and we have negotiated agreements with our tour operator partners. In some cases, the Tanzania Worldwide Safaris offer will be a unique package or the price will be cheaper because we have negotiated an exclusive deal for our customers.

What will happen to my personal details?

If you decide to book a Tanzania Worldwide Safaris holiday, you will need to provide your details to our tour operator partner as part of their normal booking procedure. Tanzania Worldwide Safaris will not have access to this information unless you choose to share your information with us. If you are concerned, please ask our tour operator partner about their own data protection policy at the time of booking.

What is the best season for a safari?
Tanzania can be visited at any time of the year. The most popular seasons are mid-December to March and mid-June to September. The months of April and May are rainy seasons, but the country is green all over at that time.

Where will we stay?
Most of our safaris are in hotels, lodges and luxury camps. Follow the Accommodations link to see descriptions of all  lodges, hotels and camps.

Can a custom safari be arranged?

We are delighted to work with you to make sure that we help you, your family and your friends to organize and plan the best safari to match your interests, available time and budget.

What camera equipment is essential on safari?

Binoculars are vital, preferably wide angle. A powerful zoom or telephoto lens will reward you with superb shots.

What about safety in Tanzania? What precautions must we take?

While on safari, the only dangerous creatures are wild animals. The people are gracious and hospitable. But, as in many cities around the world, there is a need to be careful and vigilant. Never walk in deserted areas at night, try not to look too much like a rich tourist with six cameras hanging around your neck, pockets bulging with dollars and gold chains, rings and diamonds.
Be sensible. As in most cities, there are areas which are safe and areas where criminals lurk. So choose the safe spots. Ask at your hotel, or ask some locals. In most of our tours, you will be with guides.
